ADwin-Pro II - High Performance, Flexible Modular System

The ADwin-Pro II system is the successor of the ADwin-Pro. The new system is equipped with a much faster T11 processor and, with the new Pro II bus, can transfer data 10 times faster than the ADwin-Pro. At the same time the integrated ADwin-Pro bus guarantees the compatibility with older modules still in use.

• The new T11 processor module is equipped with a TigerSharc© ADSP-TS101S from Analog Devices. With 300 MHz clock rate, 768 kB local memory and 256 MB RAM the processing performance is dramatically improved. The processor also features a floating point unit with 40-bit resolution.
• The fast Ethernet interface (of the T11 processor) reaches effective data transfer rates of more than 10 MByte/sfrom the Pro II system to a host computer.
• The bus bandwidth of up to 200 MByte/s increases the capacity of the internal data transfer between processor module and the new Pro II I/O modules considerably.

The Pro II is compatible with ADwin-Pro Modules

While offering a tremendous increase in performance the ADwin-Pro II still remains backward compatiblity to ADwin-Pro modules. With the new Pro II bus and the ADwin-Pro bus working on the backplane side by side, all existing input and output modules can be used.

Data exchange with the PC is also completely compatible, all interfaces (for VB, Matlab, etc.) can be used as usual. Your ADbasic source codes can all be used as well. Only minor changes are necessary and approved algorithms profit from the higher processor speed.

Real-time for complex applications

The high transfer speed of the new Pro II series allows high speed data acquisition and data logging applications. Utilizing the high performance T11 processor, relevant data can be pre-selected, with real-time mathematical functions or digital filtering.

All new Pro II modules can be run synchronously via the Pro II bus. This enables a user to carry out synchronized measurements with several modules without the necessity for special software.

The ADSP processor executes complicated calculations in the shortest time possible; the processor can process up to fifty ADbasic program lines in only 1 µs. Even the response times are extremely short, so that open and closed-loop processes can be reliably carried out on the T11 processor with cycle frequencies faster than 1 MHz.

The ADwin-Pro II is available in a several different styles of rugged enclosures for various applications: As desktop unit for the laboratory, as field system or as system for control enclosure assembly.

With 5-16 slots and a wide variety of different modules the ADwin-Pro II provide an ideal and flexible basis for fast real-time applications.
